About the Bobri Festival

The popular Ljubljana festival of cultural and arts education has been organised by the City of Ljubljana, in cooperation with the Slovenian Youth Theatre, since 2009. Each year, in collaboration with the festival, we present a selection of high-quality dance programmes for children and young people—hosting international dance artists as well as presenting productions by the En–Knap Group. All events at the festival are free of charge, but tickets are available in limited numbers via the online portal bobri.si. * Tickets will not be available at the box office of Španski borci Centre for Culture.

About Martin Krpan 2

In the story we all know, Martin Krpan cuts down a linden tree and fashions a weapon from it with which he defeats Brdavs, saves Vienna… and then rides home on his mare. But what happens next? Few Slovenians know that Fran Levstik also wrote a continuation of the story. Inspired by this lesser-known sequel, the dancers of En–Knap Group imagined their own version of what might follow and present it in their own playful way.

Through play, dance, and humour, the performance addresses important themes such as environmental protection, the consequences of our actions, and the importance of community. Due to its interactive nature, the performance also encourages children to express themselves through movement. The performance is intended for young audiences aged 5–10.
