One must persevere, toughen oneself, be uncompromising, without losing tenderness – in the exclamation of the famous freedom fighter, opposites complement and sustain each other. Hatred and love together drive the Revolutionary into struggle.

What are we fighting for? What drives us? What is our drive?

Furioso is a performative sonic score in which we meet in the raw energy of rage, each in our own way, with our own instrument. Body and subject surrender to sonic violence, to the eruption of the body – furioso (wild, stormy), con fuoco (with fire), agitato (agitated). It fights against the feeling of powerlessness, which is sterile, which produces nothing – anger, by contrast, is productive, full of energy. How can it empower us without becoming purely destructive? To remain lucid in chaos, to create meaning in the midst of meaninglessness.

Ventilator is a programme framework by Zavod Sploh that, through experimental projects, opens up new forms of expression between music, dance, and performance. The cycle avoids codification and rigid classifications, bringing together a defined performative structure with the fluidity of expression. With this project, Sploh Institute continues its commitment to research, innovation, and the production of new formats.

This year, dancer, performer, choreographer, and educator Nataša Živković has been invited to develop the Ventilator project in this season.
