Pablo Girolami & IVONA

The Rilke Project @ Moste Open 2026

#dance performance #dance in public space

Moste, a neighbourhood in full swing – and a Rilke DJ set by Zaloška. Italian choreographer Pablo Girolami brings his Rilke Project: “Angels’ Orders” to Moste Open for its premiere, following its selection by the Pan-Adria network for the 2026/27 season. Girolami takes Rilke’s First Elegy and translates it into movement, breath, vibration and rhythm rather than words. Through shared listening, the dancers and DJ create an unpredictable, living organism that assembles itself anew before our eyes each time. Poetry steps off the page and into the world – into the park by Španski Borci.

Pan-Adria is a unique regional contemporary dance network initiated by En–Knap, bringing together seven dance institutions from Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. As the only network of its kind in the region, it provides selected dance artists with comprehensive support in the development and production of new works, while creating opportunities for collaboration and circulation across the region.

Pablo Girolami is an Italian-Spanish choreographer and former dancer trained at Tanz Akademie Zürich. He has worked with Hessisches Staatsballett and Spellbound Contemporary Ballet, collaborating with choreographers including Wayne McGregor, Hofesh Shechter and Marcos Morau. He is the artistic director of IVONA and, since 2024, of the Fagagna Dance Festival in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

@ Cultural Quarter Moste

At the end of summer, Moste gets moving. Full throttle!

Moste Open was launched six years ago as a meeting point for organisations, associations, schools and individuals who help create the lively cultural pulse of Moste. Today, it is a space for meeting, connecting and exchanging, where culture, education, movement, music and community care come together. On this day, Španski Borci Cultural Centre and Mladinska Postaja Moste step beyond their own thresholds – contemporary dance, performing arts and music spill into public space. They are joined by programme partners, as well as numerous associations and organisations from the neighbourhood.
